about

The seven-song Musical Endpoint EP was the first recording (self-released on cassette) by Kill Devil Hills, in early 1999. It was recorded in Nashville by our dear friend Dallas Thomas (Pelican, Swan King, Asschapel, Booby Hatch, etc.) at Southern Vomit Studios, home of the late, great Bill Thomas, may he rest in peace. Recorded for this first release, the songs "Musical Endpoint" and "Possible Outcome" were re-released a year later on KDH's split CD with the Illinois band The Colour blue, while "Fall Back," "Two Steps Left of Center" and "Riding 565" were re-recorded in Chicago for the 2001 KDH album, 36 Minute Struggle. The remainder, these two "lost songs" from the original Musical Endpoint cassette EP sessions, slipped through the cracks. Not the strongest songs of the bunch and cut when the band was still finding its footing, they were left behind and have not resurfaced until now.
